Happy New Month Family.
It is always a good thing to give thanks to God for everything, even the ones we take for granted like entering into a new month. Psalm 100:4 says "Enter with the password: "Thank you"! Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him. Worship him". (MSG translation)
I mean this is just amazing! This passage makes it clear that if you want anything from God, the password to getting it is "thank you".
Thank him first, then ask. Imagine trying to get into your bank account or your ATM but you do not have the password. Or you try to enter your house but you don't have the key. You keep trying but you can't enter. What ends up happening is that you'll get frustrated. That is what happens to some of us spiritually. We keep praying but we don't get any answers because we do have the right password to the answer.
We struggle because we pray amiss! Our challenge for you this month is to stay on the word "thank you". Do you know that before you even open your mouth to ask God for anything, he already knows your need? You are not the one to announce to him. Like, "oh by the way God, I need a new job, or I need to pay my rent. Help me, help me"!
Before you opened your mouth to say it, he already knew. He told Jeremiah, "before you were formed in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I called you to be a prophet among the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5) Selah.. Read that a second time and really think about. Before you were even formed in your mother's womb, even when you were just a blood clot, he already knew you. What you will become and what challenges you will face in life. He knows your weaknesses and your strengths. He knows everything! So why do you think he does not know about the current challenge you have right now?. Your deliverance is already set. It was marked in his books. But you can you persevere until the appointed time?
How do you presevere you may ask. You persevere with the password "thank you". You thank him for your current situation, with the confidence that he already knows what you need and he has plans for you. His plans for you are good and not of evil, to give you an expected end (Jeremiah 29:1).
You have to dwell in his presence to get to your expected end. Because he that dwells in the secret place of the most high, shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. You cannot abide under his shadow if you don't dwell in his presence. Don't be a stranger, get to know your father. And when go into his presence, enter with the password "Thank you!".
